Thailand Immigration Bureau has opened pilot access to its immigration management app, Thailand Immigration Management (THIM), giving travellers an optional way to complete the mandatory Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).
THIM is not an additional entry requirement and does not replace the TDAC. During the pilot phase, travellers may either complete the mandatory arrival registration through the THIM app or via the existing TDAC website.
Individual registrations are expected to take no more than three minutes, while the app also supports group registrations for up to 10 travellers.
The Bureau said it planned to add more features to the app, including application submissions, document requests, appointment scheduling and online tracking of application status. “These features will reduce the need for in-person visits and help alleviate congestion at immigration offices while maintaining effective oversight by immigration authorities,” the Bureau said in a statement.
The app’s official launch is scheduled for August.
