Chief's bean counter celebrates high turnover

SINCE its inception last year, the Shangana Cultural Village, situated near the Kruger National Park in Hazyview, Mpumalanga, has increased its turnover to five times what it was in its first six months of operation, with last month bringing in the highest turnover to date.
This can mainly be ascribed to the fact that Shangana offers cultural festival evenings almost every evening, which will run until December, relates James Delaney, managing director of the Cultural Village.
"To date, just over 15 000 people have attended our shows featuring 70 dancers, choir members and musicians and with our famed Evening Festival planned for the next three months, we expect even higher numbers."
According to him, approximately 70% of the visitors are international tourists.
Groups of up to 200 can be accommodated at the cultural festivals.
