Leonie Andereya has been appointed new GM of the Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town. Andereya brings extensive experience from Radisson RED Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and the Savoy Hotel. She worked as Curator for six years when she acquired extensive knowledge of the broader Radisson Hotel Group brands. Andereya holds, among other qualifications, a Master’s degree in industrial and organisational psychology from the University of Liverpool.
New Key Account Manager for Lift
Raeez Domah has been appointed Key Account Manager for the Western Cape for Lift.
Domah entered the aviation industry in 2006, working for Comair Ltd. His roles included working as the National Team Leader for British Airways Special Services for nine years, which he says was a fantastic opportunity to work with the top local and international corporates.
He joined Lift in 2020, where he began as a ground-handling agent and later became Acting Supervisor: Operations for Lift. In his new role, Domah says he will draw on his passion for people and commitment to customer service.
UN Tourism nominates female Secretary-General
Shaikha Al Nowais has been nominated by the UN Tourism Council to be the first woman Secretary-General in its history, subject to approval by the UN Tourism General Assembly.
Al Nowais has 16 years’ experience in global hospitality and has been Corporate Vice President of Owner Relationship Management at Rotana Hotels, Chairperson of the Tourism Working Group at the Abu Dhabi Chamber, board member of the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council, member of the advisory board of the UAE Tourism Council, and one of the board of trustees at Les Roches Hospitality Academy.
