Club Med appoints new md

CLUB Med has
appointed Olivier
Hannaert new md of
its Southern Africa
operations, taking
over from Stuart de
Bourgogne.
Olivier will start his
tenure on March 1
and will be based in
Johannesburg. “My
vision is to continue
on the path of
exponential growth
that Stuart set the brand on
course. It will possibly be one
of my most exciting ventures
since I started working with
the company in 1997,” says
Olivier.
Olivier began his career with
Club Med almost 20 years
ago, working as a golf GO in
resorts in Turkey, Mauritius,
Senegal, France, Greece and
Portugal. His career
trajectory has seen
him running Club
Med resorts as
Chef de Village with
between 200 and
600 team members
in destinations
including The
Bahamas, Egypt,
Morocco, Tunisia,
Morocco, France and
Switzerland. Since
2014, Olivier has
been the sales director in The
Netherlands.
Stuart will be transferring to
Japan where he will run Club
Med’s operations as president
and ceo.
“I know that I am leaving
my awesome team in expert
hands. I wish Olivier all
the very best in his new
challenge,” says Stuart.
