Delta SkyMiles Medallion Members can now take advantage of Reclaim My Status, a programme for members whose travel patterns have been affected by a life change or event.
Each situation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and major life events that impact travel may include becoming a parent, recovering from a serious illness, sustaining a serious injury, changing jobs or careers, caregiving for a family member and getting a degree.
Members who are ready to start travelling again can submit a request on Delta’s website and, if approved, they will get three months of complimentary Medallion Status. Then, members who meet the minimum travel and spend thresholds for that status tier over the three-month period will retain their status.
If a member enrols in Reclaim My Status on or before December 31, 2019, and meets the thresholds, Medallion Status will be extended until January 31, 2021.
If a Member enrols in Reclaim My Status between January 1 and December 31, 2020, and meets the thresholds, Medallion Status will be extended until January 31, 2022.
