Delta has rebranded its seats and fares for all flights on or after October 1.

Seat products will now be classified into the following categories: Delta Main, formerly Main Cabin; Delta Comfort, formerly Delta Comfort+; Delta First, formerly First Class; Delta Premium Select and Delta One.

The base-level fare class, Basic Economy, has been folded into Delta Main, which now includes three experience options: Basic, Classic and Extra.

  • Delta Main Basic, previously Basic Economy, is Delta’s lowest-cost fare and offers passengers the essentials with restrictions, including seat assignment after check-in, Zone 8 boarding priority, cancellation with a fee for a partial eCredit, no mileage or Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQD) earned and no entry into Delta Sky Clubs.
  • Delta Main Classic allows passengers to earn MQD or five miles per dollar (excluding taxes), eCredit if they cancel, better boarding priority, same-day standby options, and added flexibility to choose their seat.
  • Delta Main Extra offers travellers higher boarding priority, base mileage earns seven miles per dollar (excluding taxes or fees), easy refundability back to their form of payment and same-day standby options.

All other seat products will include ‘Classic’ and ‘Extra’ tiered experiences. In some markets, customers may be offered ‘Refundable’ options in place of ‘Extra,’ which will allow flexibility and trip cancellation for a refund at any time prior to departure, for flights departing from the US or Canada.
