The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) has confirmed that CemAir remains grounded. The authority said the prohibition order remained in place and that it would notify the public if this changes.
eTNW understands that CemAir has been issuing boarding passes and telling its passengers that flights are delayed.
The airline has until 13h30 today to submit proof of compliance to SACAA regulations, or to make a representation, and state reasons as to why its Air Operator Certificates should not be revoked.

eTNW understands that SACAA's technical team are meeting at present and a decision on CemAir is imminent.
The carrier remains grounded in the interim.
In a statement issued last night, the carrier said: “CemAir has made representation to the SACAA regarding the allegations. We await their feedback.”
Moreover, the carrier said that in the interim it was making alternative arrangements for passengers and that all passengers could apply for a full refund.
