Royal Zambian Airlines (RZA) has told Travel News that its inventory will soon be accessible and bookable on GDSs, via APG. This is expected to be in operation before the end of 2021.
Up to now, distribution of inventory has been through its own website or on the VRS distribution system. Having a presence on the GDS and connection to the BSP will make the carrier easier for agents to book on their preferred GDS platform.
Royal Zambian Airlines is a boutique carrier, offering what it describes as “a luxury air travel experience.” It’s the only Zambian carrier to fly between Lusaka and Johannesburg.
The airline conducts two return flights a week between the two points, and has been flying this route since December 2020.
On Tuesday, the JNB-bound flight departs LUN at 10h00 and arrives in JNB at 11h55. Also on Tuesday, the LUN-bound flight departs JNB at 13h00 and arrives in LUN at 15h00.
There is a Friday flight from Lusaka to Johannesburg. This flight departs LUN at 10h00 and arrives in KUN at 11h55.
On Sunday, there is a flight from Johannesburg to Lusaka. It departs JNB at 11h20 and arrives in LUN at 13h15.
The flights are conducted on a 50-seater Embraer 1456LR.
Workshop

The airline currently has a special deal with Legacy Hotels – passengers of RZA may stay at the Legacy properties the DAVINCI Hotels and Suites, The Leonardo, Raphael Penthouse Suites and the Michelangelo Towers, from R8 100 per person sharing. This includes the return flight from JNB to LUN and two nights accommodation with breakfast and free wifi.
