Luxury Johannesburg boutique hotel, 10 2nd Avenue in Houghton Estate, will fall under the management of Dream Hotels & Resorts from October 1.

“Dream Hotels is excited to be bringing another property under our umbrella in Gauteng,” said Chris Snyman, Dream Hotels’ Chief Development Officer. “10 2nd Avenue is a perfect fit in our diverse stable, and we are looking forward to reimagining and revitalising this sophisticated guest estate.”

While the property will continue to operate in its current form until February, guests can expect subtle improvements and personalised touches during this time.

From Q2 2025 onwards, efforts to enhance the guest experience will begin. “Our changes will include a comprehensive rebrand together with improved levels of luxury and innovation,” Snyman added.

Centrally located in Houghton, 10 2nd Avenue is ideally placed for guests travelling for both business and leisure, with easy access to the Gautrain, OR Tambo International Airport, the business centres of Rosebank and Sandton and numerous entertainment districts.

“Johannesburg is a popular tourist destination, an important business hub, and a city rich in historical and cultural significance,” said Snyman. “We understand that visitors who come here want access to its many sites, as well as the ability to return home at the end of the day to a luxurious and tranquil space.”

The property has 16 rooms and suites that cater for solo travellers, couples, groups of three, and families of up to six. There are Executive and Superior Executive Suites as well as a Presidential Suite.

All rooms and suites are fully equipped with all the amenities guests might need, and breakfast is included.

On-site facilities include a formal dining room serving gourmet cuisine, a private gym, and a heated swimming pool. Dedicated event spaces – the Veranda, the Clivia Room, the Houghton Lawns, the Estate Boardroom, and the Conference Room – offer cutting-edge facilities that cater for everything from private dinners to large celebrations and high-level formal meetings.

“We look forward to entrenching 10 2nd Avenue’s position as a sought-after accommodation option for luxury travellers. Whether our guests are looking for a safari stopover, a location for their wedding or corporate event, or a relaxing retreat after a busy day in the city, we pride ourselves on ensuring that 10 2nd Avenue serves every need,” Snyman concluded.
