Carnival orders new ships
CARNIVAL Corporation has signed an agreement with Italian
shipbuilder, Fincantieri S.p.A, for two new ships for Holland America
Line and Princess Cruises. Princess Cruises’ new ship, expected to
be delivered in 2020, will have capacity for 3 660 passengers and
will be its sixth Royal-class vessel. It will feature multiple dining
options, entertainment, retail venues, as well as Princess Cruises’
signature outdoor movie screen. More than 80% of staterooms will
have balconies. It will also feature Ocean Medallion Class, a new
class introduced by Carnival Corporation that offers passengers
enhanced services and a personalised experience. Holland America
Line’s new ship, expected to be delivered in 2021, will carry 2 660
passengers and will be the cruise line’s third Pinnacle-class vessel.
Carnival Corporation now has 19 new ships scheduled for delivery
between 2017 and 2022.


NCL grows fleet
NORWEGIAN Cruise Line has reached an agreement with Fincantieri
S.p.A. to construct the next generation of ships for its NCL brand.
Four ships are on order for delivery in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025,
with an option for two additional ships to be delivered in 2026 and
2027. Each ship will accommodate about 3 300 guests.
