DUB the latest to drop 100ml rule

Dublin Airport has eased its security regulations and now allows travellers to keep liquids, gels and electronics in their hand luggage when going through security.

The 100ml liquid rule has also been scrapped, allowing departing passengers to carry up to two litres in their hand luggage. Liquids and gels no longer need to be packed in clear plastic bags.

Around 30 new C3 scanners and body scanners have been installed in Dublin Airport’s two terminals. The C3 scanner technology generates 3D images of bags, making it easier to check the contents.

In July, the EU approved new security measures for airports that had the correct scanners in place.
