Durban-Réunion charter postponed

The planned Durban-Réunion charter, due to launch on February 27, has been postponed until May.

According to Global Aviation, the delay will allow the operator to ensure that the highest standards of safety, service quality, operational reliability, and regulatory compliance are fully met.

Following a comprehensive audit of Saint-Pierre Pierrefonds International Airport in Réunion by the Global Aviation Operations team, and a detailed review of local operating conditions, it was determined that additional preparation time was required to launch Airbus A320 operations, particularly around infrastructure, operational coordination and procedural alignment.

Passengers will be refunded into their electronic wallets, which can then be used to reschedule flights.

The service was formed through a strategic partnership between Engage Connection, FLY VETIV'AIR and Global Airways and had initially been expected to operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between February 27 and March 15.
