Dubai International Airport has introduced an AI-powered immigration checkpoint passenger corridor.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, unveiled the technology, which allows passengers to walk through the immigration checkpoint corridor without stopping at the counters to have their passports checked, reports Gulf News.
The corridor is able to process up to 10 passengers at the same time. The system uses AI and facial recognition to recognise passengers as they enter the corridor, to verify their identities and flag suspicious cases for manual checks.
