Emirates aims to offer a paper-free, speedy, digitised check-in experience with its new mobile boarding pass for passengers departing Dubai.
The airline now requires most passengers departing Dubai to use a mobile boarding pass instead of the printed paper version.
Passengers checking in at Terminal 3 will receive their mobile boarding pass via email or SMS. Those who check in online can load their boarding pass into their Apple or Google Wallet or get it on the Emirates app. The checked-in baggage receipt is also emailed to passengers and is available on the app.
The mobile pass can be used in Dubai Duty Free, at security and for boarding. Emirates staff scan the QR code on the mobile pass as passengers move onto the aircraft.
In cases where passengers don’t have mobile devices or are unable to access these, the option of a printed boarding pass is available – pax need to request this of the Emirates’ agents at check-in counters.
