EK’s profit jackpot

The Emirates Group released its 2024-25 financial results on May 8, achieving a new record profit before tax and becoming the most profitable airline in the industry.

Both Emirates and its airport services provider, dnata, contributed record revenues, as the group reported the best results in its history when it had expanded its operations around the world to meet customer demand.

In airline results alone, Emirates reported a profit before tax of AED21,2 billion (R104,9 billion), up 20% from last year and a revenue of AED127,9 billion (R633,2 billion), an increase of 6% from last year. Cash assets were AED49,7 billion (R246 billion), 16% higher compared with March 31, 2024.

For the financial year ending March 31, 2025, the Emirates Group reported a record profit before tax of AED22,7 billion (R112,4 billion), up 18% from last year, and a record revenue of AED145,4 billion (R719,8 billion), up 6% from last year. The group recorded its highest-ever EBITDA of AED42,2 billion (R208,9 billion), up 6%. Cash assets were AED53,4 billion (R264,3 billion), 13% more than last year.

Looking ahead, Emirates will strengthen its fleet with the expected delivery of 16 A350s and four Boeing 777 freighters to meet customer demand, according to His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group.
