Electric Jaguars for tight United connections

United Airlines and Jaguar North America have launched a partnership offering the first gate-to-gate airport transfer service in the United States powered by an all-electric fleet.

The service will begin this month at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, where select members of Premier MileagePlus, United’s loyalty programme, will enjoy chauffeured rides between their connecting aircraft in the 2023 Jaguar I-PACE HSE, the company’s first all-electric performance SUV.

The vehicles will go into service at other United hubs in Denver, Houston, New York Newark, Washington DC, San Francisco, and Los Angeles by the end of the year. The SUVs are expected to make an estimated 60 trips and transfer over 1 000 travellers daily.

The new transfer service is a surprise benefit for select Premier MileagePlus members with tight connections, who will be greeted by a Premier Services agent to escort them to the vehicle on the tarmac and accompany them to their connecting flight.
