Emirates has reduced the baggage allowance for passengers travelling to and from destinations in the Americas and Africa, effective February 4.

Special Economy Plus customers will only be allowed one piece of luggage up to 23kg on/after February 4. Saver, Flex and Flex Plus economy-class passengers will remain unchanged at two pieces up to 23kg each. The allowances for business- and first-class passengers are also unchanged and remain two pieces up to 32kg each.

The following weight concepts apply to all routes, excluding travel to and from destinations in the Americas and Africa.

From February 4, the new weight allowance for Special Economy Class passengers will be 15kg, down from 20kg. Saver customers will receive a 25kg baggage allowance, down from 30kg, while Flex and Flex Plus baggage allowance remains unchanged. The baggage allowance for business- and first-class passengers also remains the same.

Travellers are allowed to check in as many pieces of baggage as needed, provided the total weight is less than the maximum baggage allowance assigned to each class and each individual item weighs less than 32kg.

The total dimensions (length, width, height) of each piece must not exceed 150cm. The carrier has advised of an additional fee for any individual items exceeding this dimension.
