ET to breathe life into new Air Namibia?

The daily website, The Namibian, has reported that Ethiopian Airlines is engaged in discussions with the Namibian government about the possibility of a co-operation agreement to revive the bankrupt state carrier, Air Namibia.

Namibian President Hage Geingob met with Ethiopian Airlines at the February AU Heads of State meeting in February and a discussion was held over how the Ethiopian carrier could assist the Namibian government to resurrect the Namibian carrier.

The Namibian quotes Presidential spokesman Alfredo Hengari confirming the meeting and saying that a roadmap was in play to revive the airline.

Air Namibia was liquidated in 2021 following years of losses in the billions.

Also in play is an expression of interest from Emirates in the defunct Namibian carrier and, according to Hengari, there are other suitors.
