Ethiopian Airlines will resume flights to Mogadishu, Somalia, effective November 2.
The resumption of the service comes 41 years after the airline stopped flying there in the 1970s.
Tewolde Gebremariam, group ceo of Ethiopian Airlines, said the flights would play a significant role in strengthening the people-to-people and economic ties between the two countries. “The flights will also enable the important Somali diaspora in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Middle East, Europe and Africa to travel to their homeland via Addis Ababa, thanks to our global network of over 116 international destinations.”
Flight ET0376 will depart Addis Ababa at 10h00 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and arrive in Mogadishu at 11h30. Flight ET0377 will depart Mogadishu at 12h10 and arrive in Addis Ababa at 13h40.
