Europcar gets cool

Starting April 1, all Europcar vehicles will have air-conditioning, meaning there will no longer be a Group A category of vehicle. The new entry level vehicle will be in the Group T category, with aircon.

Europcar will also be changing its SIPP codes for Groups B* and H** effective on the same date for better alignment with industry standards.  Car companies use the SIPP codes, which form part of the ACRISS (Association of Car Rental Industry Systems Standards) codification, so that customers can compare the different vehicles.

Group B*category vehicles’ current SIPP code will change from CDMR to HDMR – Economy Elite, four- to five-door, manual, unspecified fuel and air-conditioning.
Group H** category vehicles’ current SIPP code will change from FDAR to PCAR – Premium, two- to four-door, automatic, unspecified fuel and air-conditioning.
