European airport trade body, ACI EUROPE, has released its H1 latest traffic report, which, it says, “finally confirms a full recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic for the airport industry”.

Passenger traffic at European airports for the first half of 2024 was up 0,4% on 2019 levels for the same period. It was also up 9% in H1 compared with the same period last year.

Olivier Jankovec, DG of ACI EUROPE, said: “As overall passenger traffic finally made it above 2019 levels over a full six-month period, our industry has now turned the corner on the pandemic.”
