Fastjet shows its commitment to Southern African tourism

12 Aug 2022

Award-winning airline, fastjet Zimbabwe, recently introduced a third daily return flight from Zimbabwe’s tourism capital of Victoria Falls to Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport.

This was in response to the increased demand and feedback from the travel trade in the region and globally.

The additional third frequency operates daily from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls at 12h40, with the return flight departing from Victoria Falls at 15h05.

Commenting on the additional frequency, Group Chief Operating Officer, Donahue Cortes, said: “Fastjet remains firmly committed to supporting the development of air travel and tourism in the Southern African region. This additional third daily service is something our local, regional and global travel partners have welcomed, as demand for African vacations is booming. In addition, we have added resources at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo and Victoria Falls airports, providing employment opportunities in the respective markets to ensure we maintain our focus on offering the reliable and customer-focused service that we are known for.”

“Our third frequency between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg gives our customers extended flexibility in their travels”, said Nunurai Ndawana, fastjet Zimbabwe spokesperson. “Demand into Victoria Falls continues to grow and we are delighted to offer visitors our scheduled flights, which are well timed to ensure tourists maximise their time in exploring Victoria Falls.”

Fastjet Zimbabwe Chief Commercial Officer, Vivian Ruwuya added: “As we continue to expand travel into Victoria Falls from the region, our third flight between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg is a tactical adjustment that we have introduced to offer an enhanced connectivity option between the two popular Southern African destinations.”

All fastjet fares include free baggage allowances and no-cost Flexible Change options. The airline recently announced an extension to its Flexible Change policy until the end of September 2022.
