Singapore Airlines (SIA) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have relaunched their Free Singapore Tour for transfer and transit passengers after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19.

Three of the tours that were available before the pandemic have been refreshed to include new points of interest.

  • Jewel Tour, which features popular attractions like the Shiseido Forest Valley and the HSBC Rain Vortex. Additions include discovering more about Singapore’s food heritage through local brands such as Bee Cheng Hiang and Tong Garden, as well as a guided walkthrough of the digital Changi Experience Studio, where participants experience some airport-themed games and interactive exhibits.
  • City Sights Tour, which now includes the Civic District, where guests will get an introduction to Singapore’s urban development through visits to various national monuments including the National Gallery Singapore, Anderson Bridge, and The Padang. The bus route passes through the new Marina Bay Financial District enroute to Gardens by the Bay.
  • The Heritage Tour, available from June, will feature places of interest such as the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown, Arab Street, and Haji Lane.

SIA and STB have also added a new tour, the Changi Precinct Tour to showcase eastern Singapore. Here participants will visit local community spaces such as the Tampines heartland, as well as Changi Village and Changi Beach.

Each tour lasts two and a half hours and is available daily, with plans to progressively increase to nine tours a day.

Advance booking for the tours are available on Changi Airport’s website. Travellers who wish to join the Free Singapore Tour must have a layover period of at least five and a half hours but less than 24 hours. They also need a valid entry visa for Singapore.
