Free State 'comes to Mohammed'

SINCE its official launch in November 1998, the Free State Tourism Board (FSTB) has had its headquarters in the Northern Free State mining town of Welkom, but now it has been told to pack-up and move to the capital city of Bloemfontein by the end of the month - where the provincial legislature is based.
This after a directive by the provincial Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, which felt that the FSTB would be more effective with its headquarters in Bloemfontein.
"It's closer to the major roleplayers and it's easier to facilitate communication between the relevant stakeholders, including government," says FSTB communications officer, Riathile Ralepedi.
Chief executive officer (ceo), Thabo Manyoni is currently trying to find suitable offices.
