G Adventures extends age limits

G Adventures is expanding its trip offerings for 2025 with new African and Asian itineraries – and it’s welcoming older travellers.

Previously, G Adventures ‘Classic’ tours, including trips across Southern Africa, Nepal, China and South Korea, were only available to travellers aged up to 39.

However, due to popular demand for more basic grassroots adventures at affordable prices, the operator is inviting travellers over 39 years to join.

The new itineraries available to older travellers include:

  • Johannesburg to East Africa Overland Safari – A 27-day adventure through seven countries from Johannesburg to Nairobi. The itinerary takes guests on game drives through the savanna of Ngorongoro and the Serengeti before going deep into the Okavango Delta by traditional canoe for an overnight bush excursion. Attractions on the tour include Victoria Falls and a Zanzibar spice plantation.
  • Essential Tibet – From Tibet to Kathmandu, this itinerary offers the chance to explore the Himalayas on a 12-day tour. Travellers visit temples and small outposts, camp in yak hair tents at the base of Everest, and make Tibetan momos (dumplings).
  • Korea and Japan Encompassed – The two-week journey passes through many destinations throughout South Korea and Japan, including street food markets and temples. The trip includes overnight stays in a temple on the Korean mountainside and a traditional Japanese Ryokan inn.
