Nominations have already opened for the Global Business Travel Association of South Africa (GBTASA) Annual Awards at this year’s 2024 Conference, after a hiatus of five years. The 2024 GBTASA conference will be held on August 20 and 21 at @Sandton Hotel.

The conference promises plenty of networking sessions, 10 educational sessions with great speakers and panel discussions. There will be numerous opportunities to network during the lunches and the special gala dinner. Registrations are now open.

The conference is open to both members and non-members.

Go to GBTASA's website to nominate, register, or to join the GBTASA. Details of the sessions and hotel booking details may also be found there.

The revival of the Awards is because the board of GBTASA believes that in the challenging and highly complex industry, peer recognition is more important now than ever before.

Three categories will be awarded this year. The knowledge and skills required in each of these roles is critical to the successful implementation of a travel programme, and considering the sizeable contribution that business travel generates, these roles must be recognised and celebrated. The three categories are:
*Travel Buyer of the Year,
*TMC Key Accounts Manager (KAM) of the Year, and
*Supplier KAM of the Year.

Each has its own unique qualifying criteria. One essential qualifying criteria in the TMC KAM awards is that GBTASA will only accept nominees who represent Members of the Association of Southern African Travel Agents (ASATA).

The awards dinner will be held on August 20, 2024, at the annual conference.
