Holland America Line (HAL) has partnered with Audible, a creator and provider of audio storytelling, to offer guests access to a co-branded book club with content from celebrated authors across different genres.

The Audible Book Club provides curated destination-specific audiobook and podcast collections.

Audible Premium Plus content can be accessed free via an extended two-month trial on in-stateroom entertainment systems onboard or on personal mobile devices ashore.

The online Audible Book Club, found on HAL’s social media channels, will recommend new content spanning a wide range of genres, including travel, literature, science fiction, romance, and mystery, ensuring there’s something for everyone’s reading preferences.

The book club will also offer curated carousels based on the destinations where HAL sails, such as Alaska and Canada, as well as countries in Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Beginner language classes for Dutch, Japanese and Spanish will be offered to cruisers.

HAL ships also feature refurbished onboard libraries with new decor, design and unique artwork. On average, the libraries boast up to 1 700 volumes covering a variety of subjects. A rotating ‘Feature Section’ of best-sellers and hand-picked books are on display. HAL also encourages book exchanges so guests can donate their reading material for other passengers to enjoy.
