Haute glamping launched across the Cape

Canvas Collective Africa has launched a unique travel experience combining ‘glamping’ with fine gastronomy, ten portable luxury tents and a fully mobile restaurant, travelling around the Western Cape.

Canvas Collective Africa is owned by Samara Stern and Dez Lundy, who designed The Posh Tent and Field Kitchen wilderness experiences to be bespoke experiences.

Prior to this project, Stern worked in event management and catering, as well as the Ladles of Love NPO. Lundy has almost 20 years’ experience in the mobile tented camp industry.

Accommodation is made up of ten Posh Tents, made entirely of canvas and each equipped with a king-size bed, handcrafted furniture, and en-suite bathroom with a rain shower.

Mobile fine dining

South Africa’s first truly mobile fine-dining restaurant launches at the same time. Set inside a mobile glass, steel and canvas cabin, The Field Kitchen galley has been designed as a moveable, open-plan workspace. Diners can watch the chefs while seated either indoors or outdoors.

Guests can expect breakfast in bed, artisan coffee and Mimosa cocktails, wholesome country picnics, high tea in the veld, and gourmet dinners.

Also included are all non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, apart from international wines and spirits.

The tents and mobile restaurant will remain in the Overberg until the end of the month before moving to the Cederberg from July 7 until September 30. From October 7 until December 15, the set-up can be found in Witzenberg, Tulbach.
