Heathrow strike called off for this weekend

Planned strikes at Heathrow this weekend (July 26 and 27) have been called off.

The two strikes, planned for the weekends of August 5-6 and August 23-24, are still on the cards.

The strikes are expected to affect 4 000 staff members including security guards, engineers, and passenger service operatives and drivers. The striking union, Unite, received an offer for a pay increase. A vote will now take place, the outcome of which will determine whether the strikes planned for August will take place.
