Holland America reveals longer cruises

Holland America Line’s 2025/26 South America and Antarctica season will feature a series of longer cruises of up to 22 days. During this time, guests can experience diverse cultures, extraordinary landscapes, and rich heritage sites.

From November 2025 to March 2026, the Oosterdam will sail between San Antonio, Chile, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Fort Lauderdale. Itineraries include visits to 16 Unesco World Heritage Sites and Biosphere Reserves, such as the Archaeological Site of Old Panama and Machu Picchu.

“South America is a vibrant region that offers contrasting experiences within one cruise, sailing from the tropics to glaciers and busy cities to some of the most remote places in the world,” said Dan Rough, Holland America Line’s VP of Revenue Management. “Our mid-sized ships make it possible to craft itineraries that feature an exciting collection of South American ports; and our menus, enrichment and entertainment on board ensure guests come away feeling deeply connected to the places they visited.”

The longest cruise offered is the 22-day South America and Antarctica cruise between San Antonio and Buenos Aries. The itinerary comprises an overnight stay in Buenos Aries, trips around Uruguay, Argentina, the Falkland Islands, and Chile, and four days in Antarctica with a naturalist guide who points out penguin colonies and whale pods. Guests can also enjoy scenic cruises through the Chilean fjords, Drake Passage, Beagle Channel and Glacier Alley while sampling fresh, locally sourced specialities such as Chilean salmon and world-renowned wines. The cruise departs on December 18, 2025, and January 9 and 31, 2026.
