Hong Kong further eases COVID regs

Hong Kong has further eased several of its COVID-related regulations.

The city scrapped its extensive quarantine procedures for international arrivals in November last year and began quarantine-free travel with China this month

Initially, a three-week quarantine period was mandated by Hong Kong, although this was reduced to seven days in August 2022

In addition to these changes, travellers now no longer have to submit a PCR test on the second day of their visit, according to Travel Weekly. However, they must still provide proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of their flight or a negative rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours.

In other changes, a vaccine pass is no longer needed to enter bars and restaurants, and limits on group sizes in public, restaurant capacity constraints and social distancing requirements have all been removed.

Travellers also no longer have to enter a government quarantine facility if they come into contact with someone who has tested positive with COVID.

Regulations to remain in place include full vaccination and wearing a mask in public places such as airports, hotels, stores, and restaurants.
