Hotel goes under the hammer

THE privately owned, upmarket 34-room Villa Toscania Hotel in Kempton Park, Johannesburg - located two kilometres from Johannesburg International Airport (JIA) - will be publicly auctioned on Wednesday, August 16.
This follows the hotel's liquidation approximately three months ago, says auctioneer, Pieter Geldenhuys, from Phil Minnaar Auctioneers.
"The hotel is less than two years old and is very tastefully furnished, with two conference rooms, a restaurant, kitchen and reception area."
He says the estimated price of the hotel is between R3m and R4m and includes all equipment and furnishings.
"The hotel is not trading at the moment, but it certainly has all the necessary infrastructure to run as an upmarket hotel for international travellers, due to its location."
