Insight Vacations launches special-interest tours

Insight Vacations will offer special-interest journeys and experiences in its 2019 programme, such as gardening, photography and art.

Guests will travel in smaller groups for more personalised experiences and comfort, on luxury coaches accompanied by a skilled travel director.

The 11-day Oktoberfest tour departs on September 22. It starts in Munich with a tour of the Feldernhalle on the Odeonsplatz, the Palace of the Dukes of Wittelsbach, and the English Garden. Guests also receive a private invitation to the Ochsenbraterei Tent to celebrate Oktoberfest.

In Melk, they join a river cruise along the Wachau Valley and visit the vineyards and cellars of the local winery. In Vienna they are treated to a concert of Viennese music and dance with a meal of traditional Austrian fare in the evening.

The nine-day European Affair & Chelsea Flower Show tour departs on May 24 and visits the Chelsea Flower Show in London, the Aalsmeer Flower Auction in The Netherlands, a Dutch windmill and the village of Volendam. In Bruges, guests will enjoy a cruise, visiting Chenonceau Château and the Château de Chambord, followed by a visit to the Palace of Versailles. The journey ends at the garden of Giverny.

The 15-day Art Lover’s Taste of Europe departs on October 6 and takes guests to art galleries and museums. Activities include a visit to the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and a cooking demonstration and wine tasting. With a local expert, guests visit the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and see the works of Michelangelo, Botticelli and Raphael before heading to Vinci en route to Milan.

In Switzerland, guests explore Basel and visit the Foundation Beyeler, an art museum. In Paris, they join a local expert to visit the Musée D’Orsay. The journey then concludes in Amsterdam at the Rijksmuseum.
