Johannesburg will be promoting tourism activities during Tourism Month, through Joburg Tourism’s campaign, ‘Welcome2Joburg – A City Reimagined’.

Potential visitors are taken on a journey to explore the city’s diverse offerings, from outdoor activities, leisure, and nightlife to heritage, lifestyle and its world-class business facilities.

“During September, Joburg Tourism will use various platforms and activities to promote tourism activities in the city and surroundings,” said director, Thandubuhle Mgudlwa.

The country has been negotiating its way through virtual experiences, meetings and events during lockdown, but sights and attractions are starting to open up to visitors again, albeit with strict social distancing and health protocols in place.

Joburg Tourism is seeking to partner with local stakeholders to drive visitors to products to promote them on social media platforms under the Welcome2Joburg campaign.

Hotels throughout the city are also participating in special accommodation packages and food and beverage promotions, all of which cement Johannesburg’s identity as a sophisticated, diverse and cosmopolitan destination.
