Travel around Johannesburg could face disruption this weekend as the city prepares for the upcoming G20 Leaders’ Summit, taking place on November 22 and 23.
OR Tambo International Airport has warned that there will be increased truck and service vehicle activity along the airport’s cargo road and nearby areas tomorrow (November 14), which could cause some disruption around the airport.
Travellers have been advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
Road closures have also been announced from 09h00-13h00 on November 15 for security exercises. Affected roads include the N1, M1, N12, Rivonia Road, Grayston Drive, Athol Oaklands Road, Oxford Road, Glenhove Road, Jan Smuts Avenue, Winnie Mandela Drive, Rand Show Road, Nasrec Road and Golden Highway (Nasrec).
Similar disruption is likely next weekend when the G20 Leaders’ Summit takes place.
