Kerzner International opens first fitness hotel in Dubai

The world’s first fitness and recovery hotel, the Siro One Za’abeel, the latest venture by Kerzner International, is to open in Dubai.

The fitness hotel will have a two-phase opening. Its gym and recovery centre will be open for gym members from Thursday, February 1, and accommodation will be available from February 12.

The first floor of the hotel is occupied by the fitness lab, a 900-square metre state-of-the-art gym with specialised studios for spin, Pilates, yoga and high-intensity interval training. Guests can experience tailored one-on-one training with world-class personal trainers.

The second floor of the hotel features an after-exercise recovery lab, with therapists who map out personal recovery plans and experiences for guests. Treatments include ice baths, stretching, massages and therapies such as dry needling.

Each room is “purpose-built as urban recovery cocoons”, according to the hotel. All visitors are equipped with a pillow menu, a temperature-controlled mattress, and a recovery cabinet with a yoga mat and resistance bands.

The hotel features two types of suites measuring 120 sqm, a fitness-focused suite with a private workout area and a recovery suite with a private treatment room. Ice baths for all guests can be drawn on request.

Guests will have access to an in-house nutritionist to learn how to construct meals for their optimal health. The hotel also offers ‘modular’ meals, a build-your-own-dish concept that allows guests to customise meals and choose ingredients based on their own nutritional needs and preferences.
