KLM cancels SA flights

Effective January 23, KLM will cancel all flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to The Netherlands.

The cancellations have been implemented due to a new ban, introduced by the Dutch government, on flights from South Africa, the UK and a number of South American countries, as reported in Travel News yesterday.

“KLM must therefore cancel all flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Amsterdam in order to comply with the new regulations issued by the Dutch Government, starting January 23. KLM apologises for the inconvenience these cancellations cause customers. All passengers will be contacted and re-booked on alternative flights at no additional cost. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is committed to working within the rules and regulations imposed during the pandemic. The health and safety of our passengers and crew remain our number-one priority,” said the airline in a statement.
