KLM to introduce wireless entertainment on B747s

From April 1, passengers flying on KLM’s Boeing 747-400s can stream a selection of inflight entertainment offerings directly to mobile devices.

The wireless entertainment system offers passengers a choice of more than 200 films and TV series. Using a server on the aircraft, passengers can stream content to their laptops, smartphones or tablets free of charge. KLM’s partner AirFi is providing the system.

On long-haul flights operated by other aircraft, KLM is investing in WiFi, which will provide its own content streaming.
