KQ to boost connectivity

KENYA Airways has

introduced schedule

changes, effective

April 1, which it says will boost

connectivity for passengers

by 20%. This coincides with

the planned upgrade of Jomo

Kenyatta International Airport’s

runway.

The new flight schedule for

Johannesburg daily flights is

as follows:

 Flight KQ765 departs

Johannesburg at 01h50 to

arrive in Nairobi at 06h55.

 Flight KQ761 departs

Johannesburg at 12h35 to

arrive in Nairobi at 17h40.

 Flight KQ763 departs

Johannesburg at 16h20 to

arrive in Nairobi at 21h25.

 Flight KQ760 departs

Nairobi at 08h35 to arrive in

Johannesburg at 11h45.

 Flight KQ762 departs

Nairobi at 12h05 to arrive in

Johannesburg at 15h15.

 Flight KQ764 departs

Nairobi at 21h50 to arrive in

Johannesburg at 01h00.

Flights to the following

destinations will increase in

frequency: Malindi, Mombasa,

Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Lusaka,

Zambia, Lilongwe, Maputo,

Nampula, Harare, Kinshasa,

Yaounde, Douala, Dubai,

Mumbai and Paris.

Furthermore, Kenya

Airways will operate a flight

between Accra and Monrovia

using fifth freedom rights

as part of its Bilateral Air

Service Agreement with the

governments of Ghana and

Liberia.

Delays

Travellers flying from JKIA

are advised to check in four

hours prior to departure.

Delays are expected following

the closure of the runway

between midnight and

06h00.

The closure is to pave the

way for a major rehabilitation

project over the next year. It

forms part of KAA’s strategy

to ensure that the airport

operates at an optimum level

for the next 15 years, the

Kenyan Airport Authority said

in a statement.

“Passengers should be

advised to use taxis or be

dropped off, to avoid leaving

their cars at the airport

as this will lead to further

congestion.”
