KQ receives new aircraft for China route

Kenya Airways recently took delivery of a Boeing 777-300ER, which will be launched on the Nairobi-Guangzhou route in November.
This is the first of KQ’s three B777-300ERs, with the remaining two expected next year. The schedules for these are still to be confirmed.
The aircraft, which has a capacity of 400 passengers and can carry over 20 metric tons of cargo, becomes the 45th aircraft and the largest in KQ’s fleet.
“2014 is going to be an interesting year for us. With the arrival of the two other B777-300ERs next year, and the four 777-200 that we already have, we can cater to 4 400 passengers at any one time,” says KQ Group md and ceo, Titus Naikuni.
Cabinet Secretary for Transport and Infrastructure, Michael Kamau, says the acquisition of the 777-300ER will deepen Kenya’s trade connections through long haul flights.
