LH, Amadeus test EU Digital ID Wallet

During this Northern hemisphere winter, Lufthansa and Amadeus will trial the use of their EU Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet for passengers to use at airport security and border control.

The EUDI Wallet enables travellers to securely store identity documents like passports and national ID cards, as well as payment methods and biometric profiles on their personal mobile devices.

The Wallet will be made available to all EU citizens in 2026.

The technology has already been trialled and approved for use for online and in-person check-in processes via check-in desks and self-service kiosks, auto-bag drop machines, lounge entry, and boarding gates.
