Agents on the Sabre platform will soon have to access Lufthansa Group’s NDC content. The Group has already opened registration for Italian and US-based travel agencies to join the NDC Partner Program, and it has indicated it will make its NDC content available to travel agents worldwide during the first half of 2024.

“This launch of Lufthansa Group’s NDC offers marks a high point of an intense, rewarding and collaborative effort,” said Kathy Morgan, Vice President of Product Management and Distribution Experiences at Sabre Travel Solutions.

“We are happy to partner with Lufthansa Group to make their innovative NDC content available to our community of travel agents, while ensuring a consistent distribution experience, regardless of channel.”

In the meanwhile, agents making bookings via legacy GDSs on airlines in the Lufthansa Group are already, since early in January, paying higher distribution charges on Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport.

The Amadeus surcharge has gone from $18,50 (R350) to $19 (R360), Travelport from $24 (R455) to $24,50 (R464) and Sabre from $20,50 (R388,50) to $26,50 (R502).
