Members of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) in South Africa are being offered specialist ‘Ready. Safe. Travel.’ training over four weeks, starting May 5, at a reduced rate of US$50 (R714). Each weekly session is expected to last approximately three hours.

Participants will receive a digital recognition mark to certify their specialist status upon completion of the course.

The GBTA said the aim of the training initiative was to help buyers and suppliers throughout the sales chain deal with rising, post-pandemic conditions.

Course content will cover the evolution of the supplier relationship and how buyers can maximise the partnership benefits and add value. There are also sessions on travel procurement and new ways of contracting, improving internal and external communication strategies and a look at how business travel will be different in future.

GBTA South Africa board member, Robyn Christie, urged GBTA members to sign up for the special offer. “It is a critical part of managing any kind of travel programme. The risks extend far beyond what we have known in the past.”

Robyn added: “It is important that we know what a safe travel framework should look like and to make the right decisions that will keep travellers safe.”
