Lufthansa expands train service to Frankfurt Airport

Lufthansa has expanded its Express Rail routes to Frankfurt Airport, with its partner Deutsche Bahn.

The additional train connections to the airport from Aachen, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Stuttgart and Ulm, will only begin operating from mid-December but are already available for booking.

The service gives Lufthansa passengers increased connections for arrivals and departures at Frankfurt that are even better co-ordinated and allow a comfortable transfer to flights.

The mid-December DB timetable changes will offer 119 Lufthansa Express trains to Frankfurt Airport, departing from Cologne’s central station every week instead of the current 77.

Services on the Düsseldorf route will be doubled to 105 ICE trains.

Customers from Stuttgart will in future have 77 connections a week, and there will be 42 and 49 Express Rail trains to and from Aachen and Ulm respectively every week.

Lufthansa Express Rail offers feeder trains to Frankfurt Airport with integrated booking. If the train or flight is unexpectedly delayed, Lufthansa will rebook the passengers free of charge.
