Travellers will have access to a direct air-rail transfer system between Luton Airport Parkway station and London Luton Airport by autumn 2021.
The £225m (R4,3bn) development – Luton DART (Direct Air-Rail Transit) – is expected to speed travellers from Luton Airport Parkway station to the terminal at Luton Airport in under four minutes.
The double-shuttle, fully automated mass passenger transit carriage will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
