Middle Eastern carriers have revised their disruption policies, with several airlines narrowing the travel date ranges for flexible rebooking and refund options.
Emirates
Last week, Emirates announced that its Disruption Policy would not be extended beyond May 31.
The airline noted that for bookings impacted between June 1 and June 30, the Planned Schedule Change Policy would apply. The policy only covers bookings impacted by cancelled flights or missed connections.
Passengers whose travel falls within this period and who are directly affected may be offered re-accommodation options.
Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways has adjusted its disruption flexibility policy in line with its temporary scheduled services to and from Doha until September 15.
According to the revised policy, passengers holding tickets issued before May 15, with travel dates up to September 15, are eligible for:
- Complimentary date changes, subject to availability and fare seasonality, for a new travel date up to October 31.
- A refund of the unused ticket value – standard fare rules apply.
Passengers holding tickets issued from May 16 can change or refund their bookings based on the standard fare rules. If a flight booked after May 16 is affected, passengers are eligible for:
- A free date change of up to 14 days before or after the original travel date, subject to fare availability.
- A free refund for the unused value of the ticket.
