Usually when passengers begin boarding, they take a seat inside the aircraft. This man preferred a seat on top of it.
Visually impaired former paralympic cyclist, James Brown,climbed onto the roof of a British Airways flight set to depart from London City Airport to Amsterdam. The aircraft was grounded as he hadused the door to hoist himself aboard. James wanted to intentionally delay the flightand refused to move.
The London 2012 bronze medal winner broadcasted a live streamon Facebook, saying in a shaky voice that he was doing it for climate change. The protest was part of the Extinction Rebellion demonstrations – a global movement creating awareness about climate change and ecological conservation.
James stayed there for just under an hour in spite of his fear of heights. Airport firefighters eventually removed him unharmed from his positionbut passengers did suffer from mild irritation due to the delay.
