This week’s Monday Smile features a friendly elephant calf shown on the Instagram account @africansafaris, who reposted a video taken by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The trust operates an orphan elephant, rhino and giraffe rescue and wildlife rehabilitation programme in Kenya.
“These magnificent mammals spend between 12 and 18 hours eating grass, plants and fruit every single day! They use their long trunks to smell their food and lift it up into their mouth,” reads the post’s caption.
