Heineken South Africa has launched a ‘Bar de Change’, a Bureau de Change for beers, at OR Tambo International Airport.
For South African travellers, buying a Heineken beer abroad can cost up to three time more than it does at home, but not if travellers use the Bar de Change.
At the Bar de Change exchange counter, travellers embarking on international journeys receive digital Heineken vouchers, that can be redeemed at bars across Europe, for every Heineken they buy in rands at the airport.
As a result, South Africans will be able to purchase a Heineken beer in rands instead of euros at selected partner bars across Europe. There are currently participating bars in Germany and Italy.
