Monday Smile: Kruger welcomes white lion cub

On March 5, Ngala Private Game Reserve in the Kruger National Park found one of their female white lions had birthed her first litter of cubs, surprising the reserve with one white lion cub.

A common misconception is that white lion are albino, however this is not true. Rather they are leucistic, which means they have a recessive gene mutation that makes their fur white, but their skin and eyes retain their natural pigment.

Luxury travel company &Beyond and Ngala have promised to follow the cub and his mother through their challenges and triumphs and to post their progress on their social media accounts.
